Obstetrical Pregnancy, Delivery & Postpartum Care

At Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare, our dedicated providers and staff work to insure a safe and healthy experience during this special time for you and your family. Our practice offers three convenient locations to serve your obstetrical needs.

Prenatal Care

At your first prenatal visit, all initial paperwork will be reviewed, a complete history and physical will be obtained, and an appropriately timed ultrasound will be ordered. Visits usually occur about every four weeks for the first six months of pregnancy, then approximately every two weeks for the seventh and eighth months of pregnancy. During the last month of pregnancy, patients are seen weekly. Care during your pregnancy is individualized for optimal outcomes. Our practice provides prenatal care for routine and high risk pregnancies.

Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare allows you to choose your prenatal care and delivery team. Your team will journey with you throughout your pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care. Our teams are comprised of dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwives and Physicians.

Delivery

Our providers are skilled in both vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, as well as the handling of high-risk deliveries. We deliver at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Our providers rotate hospital call and are available for your Obstetrical needs at all times.

Postpartum Care

After your delivery, our providers will care for you daily to insure your health and well being. Lactation consultants are available to assist you. If you have a baby boy and you request a circumcision, this will usually be performed prior to your hospital discharge. We look forward to seeing you during your postpartum visit where we will discuss future family planning and gynecological health.
