Elizabeth W. Killebrew, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Elizabeth W. Killebrew, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., OB/GYN with Southern CrescentPresident of Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare and Senior Partner, Dr. Killebrew has been delivering babies and practicing gynecology in the Southern Crescent since 1987. She is a Board Certified physician. She attended a six year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri and completed her internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Killebrew has received recognition from the AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists for passing certification in hysteroscopy and advanced laparoscopic skills. She performs minimally invasive surgeries including hysterectomy and myomectomy. She treats urinary stress incontinence and pelvic prolapse. Offering more choices of treatment in the office rather than the hospital has been a goal for the whole practice. We are now performing Essure tubal ligation procedures and Her Option endometrial ablation procedures for excessive bleeding in the office.

“Treatment of the woman through all her life phases makes my job interesting and challenging,” reports Dr. Killebrew.

Dr. Killebrew is a member of the North American Menopause Society and stays current with both hormonal and non-hormonal treatments for the menopause.   The North American Menopause Society recently announced that Dr. Killebrew successfully met the criteria and passed the examination necessary to become a credentialed NAMS Menopause Practitioner.

Founded in 1989, The North American menopause Society (NAMS) is North America's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health and quality of life through an understanding of menopause.

Those who hold the NAMS Menopause Practitioner credential have demonstrated special competency in the field of menopause and include physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse-midwives, nurses, and pharmacists, among others.

She is also a Certified Clinical Bone Densitometrist.

Dr. Killebrew and her husband, Andy have two children in secondary school. She serves as a board member of OBNet and is past president of the Atlanta OB/GYN Society, past chairman of the OB/GYN department at Southern Regional Medical Center and has served in many leadership roles the hospitals served by Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare.
