Lana Hirsch, RN, MSN, WHNP
Lana joined Southern Crescent Women's Healthcare in March 2011. She graduated from Vanderbilt's School of Nursing with her Registered Nurse and Master's in Women's Health in May 2010. While completing her graduate studies, Lana worked as a RN on the OB/GYN floor at Vanderbilt for two years caring for antepartum, postpartum and gynecologic patients. She also worked in Vanderbilt's Radiation Oncology Center then finished her time at Vanderbilt on the OB/GYN floor serving as a lactation consultant. She is working to complete her IBCLC lactation consultant certification. Lana's undergraduate degree is in Communication studies and she worked in the music industry in Nashville, TN for three years before returning to school for nursing. Lana has a passion for preventive healthcare amd caring for the whole patient not just the ailment.
Lana and her husband, Tony, moved from Nashville, TN with Scotty their bulldog, or bull "dawg"as Georgians say. Their precious son, Luke was stillborn in July of 2010. Lana donated over 40 bottles of breastmilk to a sweet boy whose mother was unable to produce breastmilk but who worked diligently to provde to her son through donors. Lana is open to speaking about this journey to anyone who may feel they might benefit from speaking with her about the death of a baby or child.
