Heather S. Turner, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Heather Turner is a board certified physician who is joining our practice as of July 1st, 2009. Please join Southern Crescent Womens Healthcare in welcoming our recent addition to our family!
Dr. Turner graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and received the Scholastic Achievement Award, the Dean’s Award from the Tuscaloosa campus, and the Janet Glasgow Memorial Citation awarded to women graduates in the top 10% of their class. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was recognized for her contributions to medical student education. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Turner’s areas of interest include both general and high-risk obstetrics, adolescent medicine, contraceptive options, infertility, menopause, gynecologic surgery including hysterectomy and alternatives to hysterectomy, minimally invasive surgery via laparoscopy, and the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence.
Dr. Turner balances her practice with her family life with husband, Les, and their two children. She is a volunteer with the March of Dimes and Coweta Food Pantry and active in several ministries with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newnan.
